Thanks for your interest in volunteering with SafeNest. If you’re looking to make a difference and make meaningful, direct impact with individuals in crisis, we invite you to join our family of SafeNest Emergency Response Volunteers (SERV).

Responding when survivors need us most. Supporting victims in immediate crisis.

Saving lives every day.

Due to the sensitive nature of our work, all volunteers must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable vehicle/transportation
  • Possess a smart phone
  • Attend 42-hour DV Academy

The Domestic Violence Academy (DV Academy)

The SafeNest DV Academy is designed to teach five emotional first aid skills:  Care & Comfort, Protect & Support, Educate, Connect, and Build Hope. Cohorts (classes) are led by subject matter advocates/experts and mental health professionals. The DV Academy is an immersive training combining classroom and in-field experience. Each training session is called a cohort and consists of six classes and 12 shifts of shadowing first responder advocates.
