Donate Goods to SafeNest

Your generous donations allow SafeNest to help many individuals and families in our community whose lives are impacted by domestic violence. Here are ways to donate goods to our shelter residents.

In-Kind Donation FAQ

We know we can only support as many survivors as we do because our community fulfills many needs through in-kind donations. Our in-kind donations team is grateful to have your support in filling SafeNest shelves. Do not hesitate to email [email protected] or [email protected] with any questions.

Does my donation go directly to support SafeNest clients?
Yes! Our process ensures that donated goods never go to waste. All new and gently used donations are important to SafeNest and are processed through our SafeNest Donation Center. Used items like clothing, shoes, and small appliances that are in excellent to good condition are inventoried for clients, including shelter guests.

Any donated used items that cannot be utilized by our shelter residents and/or be stored at the warehouse (due to limited space, our maximum inventory capacity is three months) are sold to our community-partner, Savers Thrift Store. The compensation received by SafeNest from Savers is used to fund important operational expenses at shelter (food, utilities, maintenance) and emergency/critical client needs such as burner phones, bus passes, emergency gift cards, rental assistance, etc.

Can SafeNest pick up my donation?
Yes! Call 702-257-3800 or email [email protected] to find out when we will have a truck in your area.

Where can I drop off my donations?
Drop off donations are accepted at the following locations:

• SafeNest Main Office located at 3900 Meadows Lane, LV, NV 89107. This location is open for donation drop off 7 DAYS A WEEK, Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and weekends 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• SafeNest Donation Center located 3925 W Cheyenne Ave., Ste 407, North Las Vegas, NV 89032. This location is open for drop off Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Savers, 1101 East Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89104, visit their website
• Savers, 8530 W. Lake Mead Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89128, visit their website

What items do you accept?
Gently used clothing for men, women and children, baby clothing, blankets, shoes, sneakers, purses, kitchenware, dishes, pots & pans, cooking utensils, backpacks, luggage, drawing/art materials and books.

What items are NOT accepted?
Dropping off or donating any of the items we cannot accept (listed below) costs SafeNest money and time, as we are charged monetary fees for disposal of broken items, mattresses, doors, large appliances, and furniture.

We cannot accept:

• • Construction materials, doors, windows, lumber
  • Weapons, firearms, or hazardous materials.
  • Any items that are damaged, need maintenance, or washing
  • Large furniture
  • Used mattresses
  • Used baby furniture such as cribs, car seats, strollers or playpens
  • Used make-up and basic need/hygiene items
  • Big-screen TVs and tube televisions
  • Computers

Who should I contact if I’d like to organize a donation drive?

What if I have a very large donation?
Due to staff capacity, please contact [email protected] at least one week in advance for large/bulk donations (primarily from donation drives). This will help ensure we have staff on-site when you arrive and have space prepared to store your generous donations.

Can I give my donation directly to a client?
Due to client confidentiality, direct client contact is not possible. However, there are many volunteer opportunities to increase your engagement with SafeNest!

Can I donate brand new items? If so, where can I make that donation?

Yes, you can! You can drop off new items or we can schedule a pickup of your new items. To make these arrangements please email [email protected] or see our info page for donating new goods. Please remember to visit our Amazon wish lists (here and here) which allows you to order items that will ship directly to SafeNest.
